My Spiritual Wanderings and Wonderings

An Act of Faith

Joseph Avatar

One of the surprises of my later life was being moved by the Holy Spirit to pray prayers that enact faith, hope, and love.

Anyone my age had learned the formulas in the Catechism. Those were written explicitly for the young, for children.

So here is  and Act of Faith that is for the mature Christian:

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  I believe that your divine  Son became man, lived as a worker, proclaimed the Good News, and died for our sins.  I believe that He will live forever in His humanity as well as His divinity. I believe that He will come again onto the earth to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths that the Holy Catholic Church holds, because You have revealed them who are eternal truth and wisdom. In this faith, I intend to live and die. Amen.

After this, acts of hope and o love will follow.
