My Spiritual Wanderings and Wonderings

As I Have Loved You

A recent gospel passage (maybe on the day I write this) reports Jesus saying Who sees me sees the Father.  To know and believe in Jesus of Nazareth is not a distraction from knowing and believing in God Almighty.   It’s the way God chose for us to do it.

Who sees me sees the Father.  He said this who is intimately and entirely One with the Father. And He said, in His turn, whatever you do for one of these, you do for me.  And we are one of these, every one of us who believe in Him and take Him for our hope for eternal life, our Redeemer.

This is the divine favor:  When we fill our hearts and fulfill our destinies, we are loving one another, and the Maker of all of us, who is busy making us even as we wonder who we are and who He is, has chosen this.  Love one another as I have loved you is His way of telling us how we are to do what He said.

Our love for one another is in time but it is not temporal. For we are loving one another as He has loved us, and that’s certainly forever.  Amen.
